Arraigo por Formación

Quick Facts

  • Time in Spain: 2 years continuous residence
  • Training: 9-month accredited program
  • Processing: 3 months
  • Duration: 1 year with work authorization

Overview

Arraigo por Formación allows irregular migrants in Spain to regularize their situation through accredited vocational training. Complete a 9-month program and receive a work permit upon graduation. This pathway was introduced in 2022 as an alternative to Arraigo Social.

Who Qualifies

  • 2 years continuous residence in Spain
  • No criminal record in Spain or home country
  • Enrolled in accredited training program (minimum 200 hours)
  • Training must be in high-demand occupation
  • No deportation orders

How It Works

Apply for residence authorization while enrolled in training. Upon successful completion of the 9-month program, your permit converts to full work authorization. Unlike Arraigo Social, no job offer is required at the time of application.

Accredited Programs

Training must be offered by authorized centers in sectors with labor shortages: healthcare, hospitality, construction, logistics, and technology support services. We help identify suitable programs.

Documentation

  • Proof of 2 years residence (empadronamiento, utility bills)
  • Criminal record certificate from home country (apostilled)
  • Spanish criminal record certificate
  • Training program enrollment certificate
  • Passport copy

Our Services

We assess your eligibility, identify suitable training programs, prepare your complete application, and guide you through the entire process from enrollment to work permit.
