Frequently asked questions
What income figure does the Digital Nomad Visa tool use?
The current English tool is aligned with the 2026 Spanish SMI planning method and family additions. Income is only one part of the case; contract, permission, insurance, and documents still matter.
Is meeting the income threshold enough?
No. A filing can still have issues with remote work permission, contract history, Social Security coverage, criminal record documents, health insurance, sworn translations, or Spanish source clients.
Should I also review Beckham Law?
Yes if the applicant is a high earner or expects Spanish tax residency. The tax decision can be more valuable than the visa filing itself.
Can Spanish clients be included in a Digital Nomad Visa case?
For employees, the work should be for companies outside Spain. For self employed professionals, Spanish client work must stay within the permitted limit and should be documented carefully.
What Social Security issue should be checked before filing?
The file should show Spanish Social Security coverage or a valid foreign coverage certificate where an international agreement applies. Not every country issues the teleworker certificate needed for this.
